I’m a traditional minded woman. I believe that a man should open doors, pull out chairs, and help me with my coat. I believe a man should take out the trash and walk the dog. I believe that his responsibility is to lead, move first, and make decisions.
No I don’t think that I should call a man every second he’s on my mind. Not only because that would be too much calling but also because I believe it’s his responsibility to pursue me and court me. Yes, I want to spend 90% of my time with him, but I still feel like it’s his responsibility to ask for my time to be spent.
Why am I traditional? Because I believe in traditional gender roles. Even though I’ve had to defy them due to circumstances, I would much rather have a man call the shots. I feel more cared for that way, if it makes any sense. And this way, I’m able to follow his lead and learn the best way to complement him.
I also believe in reciprocation which doesn’t always go with the traditional mind. I don’t believe that a man should spend all of his money trying to make me happy, even though traditionally, this is a core principle. In this economy, I prefer to be considerate of his wallet and expenses. When a man spends a lot, friend or relationship, I try to figure out how to reciprocate. This becomes more difficult if we’re not having sex since, traditionally, that’s always been the great equalizer.
Regarding happiness, woman always say that a man should be happy just to have womanly company. Shouldn’t we be the same ladies? Maybe not but I suppose this is where the traditional comes in. He doesn’t have to spend money on me because the best part of our date should be the conversation. The relating and learning about each other is most important, in my humble opinion. The principle “I am just happy to be in your company” should go both ways.
I admit that it’s difficult. There is no place for traditional minded women in 2013. I am facing the possibility that I may be alone for the rest of my life. A lot of women out there are looking for what they can get. A lot of men are looking for what they can get. There is so much selfishness on the dating scene that being traditional seems to be almost as absurd as chivalry.
I will tell you what a gentleman told me about chivalry a couple of years ago. “It’s not dead.” I say the same to all the men who are having a hard time finding a wife. Traditional minded women are not dead. There are still women out there who will CONSIDER you. Women who believe in feeding her man until he’s satiated. Women who will clean the house top to bottom or at the very least organize it and hire a maid (which is more plausible in this two income society).
I will remain a traditional gem despite popular opinion.

Lighthouse by Fantasia
[Intro:]
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
Never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Uh yea
Shine on a world that’s moving fast
Here to guarantee you never crash
[Verse 1:]
Lights, camera, action like a camera man
I can be your therapist, I’ll understand
Reaching out for me, baby take my hand
I can show you colors, I can be your care
When the world is colder, feeling older
I could be your soldier fighting for the land
Always tell the truth, I can take the stand
Take a bullet for you, Superman
[Pre-Chorus:]
Fuck the bitches and fuck the fame
I’m a be here anyway
Don’t matter what the people say
I’m a be here anyway
[Chorus:]
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Lock me up in cuffs, throw me to the ground
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Shining on a world that’s moving fast
Here to guarantee you never crash
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
Never turning off ‘cause I’m a lighthouse
I’m a lighthouse, shining for the world to see
I’m a lighthouse, that’s me
[Verse 2:]
It’s easy to forget, easy to ignore
You can be my flower, a metaphor
Too many different people tryin to keep the score
It doesn’t have to be a draw, what you waiting for?
‘Cause we’re moving like a train, everything is so insane
But my loyalty is true like an engine
Tryin to split us like an atom and I never could have fallen
This is critical, sick of the pretending
[Pre-Chorus:]
Fuck the bitches and fuck the fame (to hell with the fame)
I’m a be here anyway
Don’t matter what the people say
I’m a be here anyway
[Chorus:]
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Lock me up in cuffs, throw me to the ground
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Shining on a world that’s moving fast
Here to guarantee you never crash
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
Never turning off ‘cause I’m a lighthouse
I’m a lighthouse, shining for the world to see
I’m a lighthouse, that’s me
[Bridge: x2]
Allow us, we’ve been same for you
I’ll never ever change for you
And when the ships come in…
I’m here
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Lock me up in cuffs, throw me to the ground
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Shining on a world that’s moving fast
Here to guarantee you never crash
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
[Chorus:]
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Lock me up in cuffs, throw me to the ground
I’m never turning off ‘cause I’m a light
Shining on a world that’s moving fast
Here to guarantee you never crash
Tryin to shut me up, tryin to hold me down
Never turning off ‘cause I’m a lighthouse
I’m a lighthouse, shining for the world to see
I’m a lighthouse, that’s me
That’s me
That’s me

I’m hunted because I bring the truth to light. Its 1am and I just finished reading an email that will bring this company down for their terrible ethics. I fashion an inconspicuous response and prepare to rest. Instead, a chainsaw, a stranger breaking into my house, and fumbling for 911…
Things like this only take place in my childhood home. Its always the setting for any dream that seeks to snuff out my life.
*sigh* I’m tired but adrenaline has me too wired to achieve slumber. Guess, I’ll see what’s on Netflix.

Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk.
This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days.
Myth #2 – Introverts are shy.
Shyness has nothing to do with being an Introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of people. What they need is a reason to interact. They don’t interact for the sake of interacting. If you want to talk to an Introvert, just start talking. Don’t worry about being polite.
Myth #3 – Introverts are rude.
Introverts often don’t see a reason for beating around the bush with social pleasantries. They want everyone to just be real and honest. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable in most settings, so Introverts can feel a lot of pressure to fit in, which they find exhausting.
Myth #4 – Introverts don’t like people.
On the contrary, Introverts intensely value the few friends they have. They can count their close friends on one hand. If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you a friend, you probably have a loyal ally for life. Once you have earned their respect as being a person of substance, you’re in.
Myth #5 – Introverts don’t like to go out in public.
Nonsense. Introverts just don’t like to go out in public FOR AS LONG. They also like to avoid the complications that are involved in public activities. They take in data and experiences very quickly, and as a result, don’t need to be there for long to “get it.” They’re ready to go home, recharge, and process it all. In fact, recharging is absolutely crucial for Introverts.
Myth #6 – Introverts always want to be alone.
Introverts are perfectly comfortable with their own thoughts. They think a lot. They daydream. They like to have problems to work on, puzzles to solve. But they can also get incredibly lonely if they don’t have anyone to share their discoveries with. They crave an authentic and sincere connection with ONE PERSON at a time.
Myth #7 – Introverts are weird.
Introverts are often individualists. They don’t follow the crowd. They’d prefer to be valued for their novel ways of living. They think for themselves and because of that, they often challenge the norm. They don’t make most decisions based on what is popular or trendy.
Myth #8 – Introverts are aloof nerds.
Introverts are people who primarily look inward, paying close attention to their thoughts and emotions. It’s not that they are incapable of paying attention to what is going on around them, it’s just that their inner world is much more stimulating and rewarding to them.
Myth #9 – Introverts don’t know how to relax and have fun.
Introverts typically relax at home or in nature, not in busy public places. Introverts are not thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. If there is too much talking and noise going on, they shut down. Their brains are too sensitive to the neurotransmitter called Dopamine. Introverts and Extroverts have different dominant neuro-pathways. Just look it up.
Myth #10 – Introverts can fix themselves and become Extroverts.
Introverts cannot “fix themselves” and deserve respect for their natural temperament and contributions to the human race. In fact, one study (Silverman, 1986) showed that the percentage of Introverts increases with IQ.
This list was inspired by the book The Introvert Advantage: How to Thrive in an Extrovert World by Marti Laney.

“Alone Together”
I don’t know where you’re going
But do you got room for one more troubled soul?
I don’t know where I’m going but I don’t think I’m coming home
And I said I’ll check in tomorrow if I don’t wake up dead
This is the road to ruin
And we’re starting at the end
Say yeah
Let’s be alone together
We could stay young forever
Scream it from the top of your lungs
Say yeah
Let’s be alone together
We could stay young forever
We’ll stay young, young, young, young, young.
You cut me off, I lost my track
It’s not my fault, I’m a maniac
It’s not funny anymore, no it’s not
My heart is like a stallion
They love it more when it’s broken
Do you wanna feel beautiful?
Do you wanna?
I’m outside the door, invite me in
So we can go back and play pretend
I’m on deck, yeah, I’m up next
Tonight I’m high as a private jet
‘Cause I don’t know where you’re going
But do you got room for one more troubled soul
I don’t know where I’m going but I don’t think I’m coming home
And I said I’ll check in tomorrow if I don’t wake up dead
This is the road to ruin
And we’re starting at the end

We could stay young forever
Scream it from the top of your lungs
Say yeah
Let’s be alone together
We could stay young forever
We’ll stay young, young, young, young, young.
My heart is like a stallion,
They love it more when it’s broken
Do you wanna feel beautiful?
Do you wanna?
I’m outside the door, invite me in
So we can go back and play pretend
I’m on deck, yeah, I’m up next
Tonight I’m high as a private jet, yeah

“Something’s Missing”
I’m not alone, I wish I was.
Cause then I’d know, I was down because
I couldn’t find, a friend around
To love me like, they do right now.
They do right now.
I’m dizzy from the shopping malls
I searched for joy, but I bought it all
It doesn’t help the hunger pains
and a thirst I’d have to drown first to ever satiate
Something’s missing
And I don’t know how to fix it
something’s missing
And I don’t know what it is
At all
When autumn comes, it doesnt ask.
It just walks in, where it left you last.
And you never know, when it starts
Until there’s fog inside the glass around your summer heart:
Something’s missing
And I don’t know how to fix it
something’s missing
And I don’t know what it is
At all
I can’t be sure that this state of mind, is not of my own design
I wish there was an over the counter test, for loneliness.
For loneliness like this.
Something’s missing
And I don’t know how to fix it
Something’s missing
And I don’t know what it is
No I don’t know what it is
Something’s different
And i don’t know what it is
No I don’t know what it is
